Location of the Fatima Farm
The Fatima Farm of Mangosa is located 90 kilometers (56 miles) northeast of Managua , north of Lake Managua , in the department of León, close to the municipality of Jicaral , in a dry tropical area. The plantation is located in a tropical semi-arid valley between Lake Managua , the Marraivios mountain range and the plateau of Estrada. The plantation is 50 meters (160 feet) above sea level. The “Rio Viejo” river runs adjacent to one of the plantation's borders. In addition, the Las Mojarras irrigation canal crosses the plantation from north to south. The “Rio Viejo” river is the largest river that feeds Managua Lake (which covers an area of 1,000 square kilometers).
The farm is two hours away from the city of Managua , next to Lake Managua . Its farm is exactly north of the city, on the opposite side of the lake. To reach the farm, one must go around the lake. Traveling from Managua in a straight line on a single engine airplane, it takes 15 minutes to reach the farm. Driving time from Managua to the farm is two hours through the City of León and around the lake. The other existing route is through the city of San Francisco , which takes one and a half hours from Managua . Access to the farms is gained partly on a modern asphalt road and partly via a secondary dirt road.

Access to Ocean Ports
Mangosa has access to five different deep-sea water ports, the furthest of which is 24 hours away from its farm. Three of the ports are located on the Pacific coast and the other two are on the Atlantic coast. These ports are Puerto Cortés and San Lorenzo in Honduras , Puerto Limón and Puerto Cadera in Costa Rica and Corinto in Nicaragua . The fact that Mangosa can access so many different ports gives the Company tremendous flexibility when planning the frequency and timing of its exports and is unique to the rest of Central America .
